Adoption Application
All questions must be answered for this application to be processed
ARIZONA RESIDENTS ONLY AS OF AUGUST 21, 2025
Caring for a bird is a serious responsibility. It is very important that each person desiring to adopt a rescue bird be able to provide adequate housing, good nutrition, exercise, and stimulation for the bird. Anyone wishing to adopt a bird must be morally and financially able to take on this responsibility. It is important that you educate yourself on the species you wish to adopt and ask any questions on aspects of care that you are uncertain about.
Adopters MUST be 21 years of age to adopt a bird. Please answer ALL the questions. After the application is processed you will be contacted and a home visit may be scheduled. Most home visits are conducted via Zoom.
Rescue birds are often cared for several months minimum. This means each bird is given hours of time to rehabilitate them, or modify behavioral issues that may exist upon coming into our care. Many times birds come in with absolutely no issues at all. By the time they are ready for adoption they have been thoroughly evaluated and are ready for their next adventure.
Adoption Donation Fees:
An adoption fee is required for every bird. Adoption fees are considered donations and are a way of helping to recoup a portion of money spent on caring for the bird you’re adopting, and to help care for other rescue birds in the future. Please realize that often more money has been spent on the individual bird than the adoption fee would cover. All adoption donations collected are used to care for rescue birds at Ginger’s Parrots, Inc. We have NO paid staff or salaries. All adoption fees are tax deductible to the fullest extent that IRS allows you. Consult your tax professional if you have any questions about your donation fee tax eligibility to claim on any IRS documents.
